Imola, May 3, 2018 – Everything is ready at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari to the host the third edition of Historic Minardi Day.
Two days of emotion and exhibition with the classic cars from Formula 1, Formula 2, F3000 Gran Turismo and Sportscar that will start at 9:00am and end on Sunday, May 6th at 6:30pm. It will make for an event that cannot be missed.
Historic Minardi Day will feature classics from the ’60s, such as the Cooper T51, all the way up to the vehicles of Formula E and include appearances by the former F1 driver Nick Heidfeld and Mahindra on Sunday. There will also be the most important single-seaters from the likes of Ferrari, Benetton, Jordan, Arrows, Tecno, Fittipaldi, Fondmetal, Dallara, Osella, Toro Rosso and, naturally, the Minardi M185, which made its debut with Pierluigi Martini at the Brazilian Gran Prix on Jacarepaguà Circuit next to its “sisters” the M186, M189, M193 and PS04B.
On Sunday, the infamous Mercedes W04, winner of three grand prizes in 2013, will come to the Santerno track with Aldo Costa behind the wheel. A massive space has been reserved for cars from Formula 1, which will be on display together with the vehicles of F2, F3, F3000, Formula Abarth and Italia. All these will be alongside the masterpieces from GT and Sportscar built by quality automakers: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, BMW, Caterham, Lamborghini, Lavaggi, Lotus and Lucchini. Fans that come to the Autodromo will have the opportunity to meet some of the Champions of Motorsports, such AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Valtteri Bottas, the driver for Mercedes, who wil come to Imola on Saturday for autograph signing from 2pm to 3pm.
There will be many other highly anticipated guests in attendance: Alessandro Nannini, Pierluigi Martini, Gianni Morbidelli, Paolo Barilla, Jarno Trulli, Luca Badoer, Tarso Marques, Luis Perez Sala, Roberto Moreno, Giovanni Lavaggi, Aldo Costa, Gabriele Tredozi, Mauro Forghieri, Riccardo Patrese, Emanuele Pirro, Gabriele Tarquini, Alex Caffi, Matteo Bobbi, Carlo Facetti, Nick Heidfeld, Roberto Farneti, Miguel Angel Guerra and the young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Being an event full of fun, Historic Minardi Day will include the chance for amateur drivers and fans to take a spin on the track during the rounds reserved for Clubs (four per day) in these amazing machines, thanks to the new program “Scendi in Pista” (register online at MinardiDay.it or directly at the Autodromo). If you prefer to ride, you can also speed around the track in the 550hp two-seater “FA1x2 seater” driven by Gabriele Lancieri or Sergio Campana, or in the magnificent Supercars, each driven by a professional driver.
