Massimo Monti Appointed as the New Sole Director of Formula Imola S.p.A.

effective from July 1, 2025.

Imola, 27 June 2025 – The Shareholders’ Assembly of CON.AMI, which met today, has approved – following the proposal of the President of the Assembly and Mayor of Imola, Marco Panieri – the appointment of Dr. Massimo Monti as the new Sole Director of Formula Imola S.p.A., the company that manages the “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” International Circuit in Imola.

Massimo Monti is a manager with extensive experience and a high-profile reputation, recognized both nationally and internationally. From 2004 to 2024, he served as CEO and General Manager of Alce Nero S.p.A., leading the company through an extraordinary growth journey: from €5 million to €80 million in revenue, with a presence in over 40 countries and a portfolio of around 400 organic products. In parallel, he also led the joint ventures Alce Nero Fresco and Alce Nero Freddo, as well as the Asian branch Alce Nero Asia Ltd, contributing to the international expansion of the brand. He has also served as Chairman and CEO of RAN S.r.l., as well as General Manager of CONAPI, the largest beekeepers’ cooperative in Europe.

Monti is currently Director of the Agri-food Division at the San Patrignano Community and President of the Consorzio Il Biologico, which brings together over 160 leading companies in the organic sector. He also holds board positions at companies such as Berberè S.r.l. and Oicos S.r.l. Graduated with honors in Economic Statistics from the University of Bologna, he completed a solid and comprehensive educational path, earning three master’s degrees: in Business Management (Prometheus), Individual and Organizational Empowerment, and Project Management in Services. A path that reflects a constant commitment to personal growth and the development of high-level strategic, organizational, and managerial skills.

The term as Sole Director will begin on July 1 2025, and will end with the approval of the 2027 financial statements, in the spring of 2028.

The Assembly confirmed what had already been communicated on May 28: the goal is to further strengthen the corporate and managerial structure of Formula Imola, in line with the growth and complexity the company has reached in recent years. The reference point for the management and sporting activities of the circuit will continue to be General Manager Pietro Benvenuti, with whom there will be strong teamwork in service of the facility.

The decision to move to a Sole Directorship represents a significant organizational change, aimed at streamlining governance and aligning it with the needs of a constantly evolving context. At a time when the Circuit and the broader sporting, economic, and territorial ecosystem surrounding it are experiencing unprecedented acceleration — marked by new challenges, opportunities, and transformations — it was essential to equip the company with a decision-making structure that is agile, responsive, and flexible, capable of addressing both current and future scenarios. A streamlining aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of managerial action and making the most of the professional expertise already present within the organization.

During the meeting, the Shareholders’ Assembly of CON.AMI, together with the Mayor Marco Panieri and CON.AMI President Fabio Bacchilega, expressed their heartfelt thanks to Gian Carlo Minardi, outgoing President of Formula Imola S.p.A., to the Board of Directors, and to the entire team for the work carried out from 2020 to the present, reaffirming their full confidence in the path undertaken.

Statement by the President of the CON.AMI Shareholders’ Assembly and Mayor of Imola, Marco Panieri, and the President of CON.AMI, Fabio Bacchilega:

“With the appointment of Dr. Massimo Monti, a new chapter begins for the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Circuit. We would like to thank Gian Carlo Minardi and the outgoing Board of Directors for their important work, during which the circuit experienced an intense phase of revitalization and strong international recognition.
Now, with a profile like Monti’s—who will work in close synergy and alignment with General Manager Pietro Benvenuti, to whom we also extend our gratitude and appreciation for the journey we are sharing—we intend to continue along this path and further strengthen the managerial structure, focusing on a streamlined governance capable of facing the challenges of a growing and transforming facility, increasingly strategic for the region, for the Motor Valley, and for promoting Made in Italy worldwide.
The investments and the relaunch of the facility are moving forward, continuing to attract new events and opportunities, starting with the Music Park Arena, set to open in 2026 and announced just in recent days. We are fully aware of the responsibilities and expectations surrounding this transition, and the choice we have made reflects a long-term vision designed to ensure that the circuit retains and strengthens the prominent role it deserves.”

Statement by Pietro Benvenuti, General Manager of Formula Imola S.p.A.:

“On behalf of myself and the entire Formula Imola staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Massimo Monti, whose appointment at the helm of our company represents an important signal of renewal. His solid professional experience will be a valuable asset in facing the coming years with competence and strategic vision.
The Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Circuit has experienced a period of great revitalization and development in recent years, and we are committed to continuing this momentum, further strengthening the ties with the city and institutions to achieve increasingly ambitious goals.
I would also like to express sincere thanks to the outgoing President, Gian Carlo Minardi, and the entire Board of Directors for their support and work carried out with great passion, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility over recent years. Their leadership has accompanied an important growth journey for Formula Imola, helping to enhance the prestige of the Circuit at both national and international levels.”

Statement by Massimo Monti, appointed Sole Director of Formula Imola S.p.A.: “This appointment is a great honor for me. I sincerely thank CON.AMI, our Mayor Marco Panieri who presides over the Assembly, President Fabio Bacchilega, the Board members, and all the Mayors who approved my nomination at today’s meeting.
Alongside the undeniable satisfaction and the strong positive feelings I carry with me today, there is also a clear and equally strong awareness of the great responsibilities that this role entails.
Formula Imola S.p.A. and the “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” Circuit – beyond their importance in terms of identity, national and international visibility, and as an economic driver for our city, our Region, and all of Italy – are an integral part, both emotionally and intimately, of the history of Imola and its people.” Fully aware of the importance of Formula Imola S.p.A. and what it represents, I will give it my all. Certainly, I begin with the awareness, the reassurance, and also the pleasure of being able to rely on a Manager of great experience and the highest level such as General Manager Pietro Benvenuti undoubtedly is, with a Team of skilled and motivated People, with a solid, energetic Ownership and—something far from obvious—composed of People driven by a strong and determined Vision that clearly and uncompromisingly places the interest of the entire community at its center.”
