Superbike – Last year, the Santerno round was a great one for Alessandro Delbianco. The Yamaha DMR Racing rider brought home a victory and a second place. At the fifth round of the Dunlop CIV, Delbianco arrives after weeks of training, bolstered by a 71-point lead over Gabriele Giannini. The Honda Scuderia Improve Firenze Motor rider, thanks to his performance in the last round, is now second in the standings with five points more than Pirro. The Ducati Barni 51 Racing Lab rider didn’t shine in the last round, with two crashes that compromised his bid for a new title. The Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit will be a tough challenge for the Ducati rider. Among the main contenders in the category are once again the duo Vitali and Cavalieri on the Team Broncos’ Ducatis, while Nicolas Spinelli (REVO – M2 Aprilia) will be absent as he is competing in Barcelona with MotoE.
Production Bike – After Lorenzo Baldassarri’s thrilling double victory on the Ducati Cecchini Racing in the last round, all eyes in Imola will be on the duel between Stirpe (Ducati, Garage 51 Racing Team by DTO) and Russo (BMW Pistard), with Simone Saltarelli (Aprilia REVO M2) chasing them. Balda’ will instead be competing in the MotoE World Championship. In the overall standings, Stirpe leads with a ten-point advantage over Russo. The Roman rider finished the last round with two second-place finishes, while Russo struggled to stay among the leaders in both races. On the podium were Simone Saltarelli, who the following weekend achieved a fantastic third place at the Suzuka 8 Hours (with teammates Kevin Calia and Flavio Ferroni), and Filippo Rovelli (Ducati Barni 51 Racing Lab), earning his first podium of the season.
Supersport 600 NG – A wide-open championship with just one point separating Luca Ottaviani from Xavier Artigas. The MV Agusta Extreme rider and the Spanish competitor on Kawasaki Blackflag Motorsport are set for another thrilling showdown. Third in the standings, Andrea Mantovani, the Ducati Scuderia D’Ettorre rider, will have to skip the Imola round due to a clash with the MotoE World Championship.
Moto3 – An incredible double victory in the last round has brought Marcos Ruda (Lucky Racing) back to the top of the championship, with a 31-point lead over Elia Bartolini. Additionally, the Italian rider from Team Smash91 will not race at Imola as he is competing in the 300 World Championship. With Bartolini absent, the Spanish rider is closing in on his second Italian Moto3 title, which could be decided as early as next weekend in Imola. Other young riders could, however, extend the fight for the 2025 tricolor, such as Valentino Sponga (We Race-Pos Corse), third in the overall standings, or Daniel Da Lio (GP Project 2WP Factory Racing 2WheelsPoliTO), who is 74 points off the top of the leaderboard.
PreMoto3 – PATA Talento Azzurro FMI rider Lorenzo Pritelli (Buccimoto Factory) is the favorite, holding a 53-point lead over Alessandro Davide Aguilar Carballo (Leopard Academy by Roc’n’Dea). Third in the overall standings is Luana Giuliani (Angeluss Team), with rookie Luca Rizzi (We Race Pos Corse) in fourth. Martin Alberto Galiuto (Altogo Racing Team) is definitely a rider to watch. Among the wildcards on the crowded PreMoto3 grid is reigning champion Cristian Borrelli, who, free from international commitments, will race the Santerno round with SM Corse – GEA Motorsport.
Sportbike – Bruno Ieraci scenderà in pista da capoclassifica grazie alla vittoria e al terzo posto dell’ultimo round. Chasing the Triumph CM Racing rider will be Mattia Sorrenti (Aprilia Nuova M2), 35.5 points behind, with Paolo Grassia trailing by 53 points. They will be the ones contesting the title with five races remaining in the season, including the Superpole race that the Sportbike riders will compete in on the demanding Imola circuit.
